The internally geared hub is controlled by mountain-style electronic shifter via wires.  A battery, mounted on the downtube, provides power to the shifter, hub and a small bar-mounted display that indicates what gear you’re in and how much battery is left. When the battery runs low, simply plug in the charger.

The internal geared hub offers a very wide 409% gear range, more than enough for even the hilliest commute. But the real attraction is the simplicity and shifting precision, with no derailleur and cables that frequently need careful adjustment.
